Creekside Quilting Newsletter 05/07/2019

Oh what fun we had with the Kentucky Derby hats!!  I captured a couple of pictures, but every day we had someone in the store, wearing a hat to receive their discount!  It truly was a blast and a great conversation starter!!  Thank you to all who participated!  Here is a picture of Kathy and Twila and then Colette and her husband!  Kathy made her hat for a Kentucky Derby party!  Colette chose her red hat, because "it is her husbands favorite hat on her"...so very sweet!  What a fun week we had!

Judy and I also had a great time at the Countdown for Christmas Open Sew!  We sure would LOVE to see you join us next month!  We might even play some Christmas music!  This is the first Sunday afternoon of the month...come join in our fun! (And yes, each of us progressed nicely on a Christmas project!)

Just a reminder next week is Wool Week, and there will be NO Applique Sew-in Group on Wednesday or Sit and Sew on Friday!

What's New @ Creekside Quilting?

Do you remember Linzee McCray?  She was at Creekside at the end of March for a Meet and Greet, and then was at the Des Moines Area Quilters Guild meeting.  She did a presentation and discussion on Feed Sacks and 1930's quilts and material.  Well, Moda, still had a few bolts left of her last fabric line, called Feed Sacks True Blue, and so we ordered in the blue's and whites!  They are lovely!  Linzee is supposed to have another line coming out within the next year...we will be watching for it!

Quiltfolk is one of my favorite magazines, and a couple of weeks ago, I received an email on how much they liked the book Hope's Journey, so of course we had to try it!  It is filled with great patterns using reproduction fabrics!    Some of these patterns would look awesome in 1930 reproduction fabrics as well!

Look at these gorgeous charm packs and jelly rolls!  You asked for more jelly rolls and charm packs, so here we go!  The charm pack has 150 Jinny Beyer Palette fabric squares!  There are several free patters on the Jinny Beyer website to go with these fabric packs.  The Harlequin Charm Quilt is one free downloadable pattern.

And of course, you will need a few yards of Jinny Beyer Solids to go with the quilts you are going to make from the free downloadable patterns!
Hopscotch is one line of fabric you will love!

Community Outreach Program for March 6th-May 18th

Creekside Quilting will be collecting donations, in the store, from March 6th through May 17th of new or slightly used sports equipment, shoes, and clothing  that can be re-gifted to children and schools in need of these items.  These donations provide for children in need, an opportunity to level the playing field and participate in sports activities, that they may otherwise not have the opportunity to do.  So when you are cleaning out your garage or basements this spring, think of this organization, Opportunity on Deck/Replay.  If you have a lot or just don't want to bring it into the store, they will be more than happy to come to your home and pick up your donation(s).  For each item you bring into the store, or they pick up from your house, Creekside will add 5 Loyalty points (per item) to your rewards account.  This seemed to work great with our Souper Bowl Soup Drive...so let's try it again!

This Weeks Coupon 5/7 through 5/13
This week at Creekside Quilting, all needles and threads are on sale at 15% off.  Limit to three of any combination of needles and thread.  Must tell us at time of check out that you will be using the 15% off.  Pfaff is excluded and threads already marked down to for clearance.

Have a fun week!  Looking forward to seeing you in the store!  Happy Sewing!
