Creekside Quilting Newsletter 01/26/2021

We lost power in the store two days last week, but that didn't stop anyone from shopping!  We had more fun than normal in the store, with phone flashlights guiding our way and picking out fabrics!  Mary and Connie were just two of our shoppers that made a tricky situation, fun!  There were plenty of laughs to go around those two days...hey, what else can we do but laugh when life throws us a curve ball!

What's New @ Creekside Quilting?

Dreamscapes from Moda is our new fabric line and the colors are so vibrant!  It is a digital fabric line, and I do believe that is what pops the colors and makes the flowes look realistic!  Just a gorgeous line of fabric.  View HERE

Ready for some Valentine Sewing?  Do you have a front door quilt hanging?  Or how about a baby quilt or lap quilt?  Pillows? Pillowcases to add a touch to your bedroom?  This Riley Blake line called From the Heart, will add a touch of love to any room in your home!  Get a closer view the line HERE

The deep, rich colors of this Primitive Muslin's group looks like suede, but it is not!  I think it would make a great backing to a quilt.  View selection HERE

New BATIKS from Island Batiks!  Love the rich colors and I think Island Batiks fabric is wonderful to sew! View our selection HERE

Are you a Moody Bloom lover?  Well, than this digital panel is perfect for you!  It comes with a wall panel, then pillow tops and gift labels!  You can get a closer look and read about it in more detail HERE  See the full digital fabric line HERE

Using the B's Caprice Boxy pattern, Barb has created this festive Valentine and Spring quilt!  It's a smaller quilt, so could be used on a table or a front door!  Order HERE

Are you somewhat new at quilting?  Maybe you would just like to make a fun Valentine project?  Anne is teaching this Jelly Roll Hearts Table Runner class on February 3rd from 11-1.
This simple, yet adorable table runner is just what your table needs for the Valentine season. It goes together quickly and uses basic sewing/quilting techniques. This class pattern is great for the more beginner quilter, yet you do have to have a good understanding of how to use your sewing machine, read a quilt pattern, sew with a 1/4" seam, and rotary cut fabrics.
This class will be held in the classroom and virtually.

Anne is offering the Sew Together Bag on Saturday, February 13th from 10:30-2:30.  If you don't have any Valentines plans, grab a friend and come make one of these awesome Bags!
This multi-functional bag looks difficult, but when taken step-by-step, it goes together quickly!  It makes the perfect sewing bag, or tech cord storage bag, or cosmetic bag.  This bag can be made simply with 1-2 fabrics, or many different fabrics.  The outside can be pieced or made from one fabric.  The possiblilties are endless.

Upcoming Classes, Groups and Events at Creekside Quilting!

***PLEASE NOTE if you are new to a class or event, you MUST pre-register for all classes and events!  Now with our classroom opening up, our social distancing space in the classroom, and people getting out more, you must pre-register for any class or event at Creekside Quilting.  Anyone arriving without having registered may possibly need to leave, unless there is ample room in the classroom.  This is for your safety as well as ours and we appreciate your understanding of this situation.  Thank you!

***PLEASE NOTE before you come to class, make sure your sewing machine is in good working condition and has all the necessary supplies you will need to run the sewing machine. A good understanding of how to use your sewing machine is a must. Sewing classes require a basic sewing kit and quilting tools.

Magdalyn Rose, that little dot in the middle of the picture, had a GREAT time last Thursday evening, socializing with other dogs at the Stylin Paws Indoor Dog Park in Urbandale!  It was our first trip to a dog park, and we had a BLAST!  Dogs are so funny when they are playing together!  If Maggie was not socializing with other dogs, then we were running around the area and chasing her miniture Kona tennis ball!  The area is nice and large and everyone had on a mask.  If you haven't been to this indoor dog park yet, I'd say, try it out!  It was $12.50 for the evening, and we stayed an hour and a half...just playing and socializing with other dogs and owners....a fun time was had by all!

Mask up and keep stitchin!  Karen Steggerda
